Tundra Tech is a competitive robotics team that participates in the FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC). We are a group of passionate students who design, build, and program robots to compete in seasonal challenges while learning valuable STEM skills and teamwork.
FIRST Tech Challenge is a robotics competition for students grades 7-12. Teams design, build, and program robots to compete in an alliance format against other teams. The game changes each year, presenting new engineering challenges and opportunities for innovation.
Each season, teams compete in local tournaments with the goal of advancing to regional and world championships. FTC emphasizes gracious professionalism and cooperation while fostering STEM learning.

We look for students who are interested in engineering, programming, design, or project management. No prior robotics experience is required - we'll teach you everything you need to know!
Team members develop a wide range of valuable skills including:
- Engineering & Design: CAD modeling, mechanical design, prototyping
- Programming: Java programming for robot control and autonomous operation
- Electronics: Wiring, sensors, motors, and control systems
- Project Management: Planning, scheduling, and team coordination
- Communication: Presentations, documentation, and outreach
- Problem Solving: Troubleshooting and innovative thinking
The FTC season typically runs from September through April:
- September: Game reveal and kickoff
- October-December: Design and build season
- January-March: Competition season with local and regional tournaments
- April: World Championship (for qualifying teams)
Our team meets regularly throughout the season and maintains activities during the off-season for preparation and outreach.
